Vegetable Pizza

Vegetable pizza

• Lukewarm Water – 3/4 cup
• Dry Yeast – ½ tsp
• All Purpose Flour – 1½ cup
• Olive Oil – 2 tbsp
• Sugar – 1 tsp
• Salt – as required


• Tomato Ketchup – 5 tbspn
. Olive oil - 1 tbspn
• Sweet Chilly Sauce – 1 tbsp
• Pepper powder-1/2 tspn
• Dried Oregano – 1 tsp
• Garlic – 2 cloves, grated


• Mozzarella Cheese, shredded – 1 cup
• Capsicum – 1 no, thinly sliced
• Tomato – 1 no, thinly sliced
• Olive Oil – 2 tsp
• Olive, sliced – a few
• Onion – 1 small, half piece finely chopped and half piece thinly long sliced)
• mushroom sliced- 1 cup


• In a small glass bowl, take ½ cup lukewarm water, add yeast and sugar. Stir it gently until the yeast gets dissolved and keep 5 minutes for fermentation.

• In a large bowl, mix together the all purpose flour, fermented yeast, salt, enough water and knead for 10 minutes to make the dough. If the dough is too wet, sprinkle little more flour and make it to correct consistency. Apply little olive oil on top of the dough.
• Apply little olive oil on top of the dough, wrap it with a plastic wrap and keep it for 2 hour in normal room temperature.
• After 2 hour, the wrapped dough will be doubled in size. Then remove the plastic wrap, punch the dough down to deflate it bit and gently knead it again only with fingers, cover again with plastic wrap and keep aside for 30 more minutes.
• Meantime, Pizza Sauce can be prepared as below:
• Heat a small pan and pour into it the tomato ketchup, oliv oil ,sweet chilly sauce, pepper powder, oregano, , and garlic and mix well. Keep it on low flame and continue stirring for 5 minutes and remove from the flame.
• Make a ball with the dough and flatten it with hands on a slightly floured work surface. Starting at the center and working outwards, use fingertips to press the dough to ½ inch thick. Turn and stretch the dough until it will not stretch further. Let the dough relax for 5 minutes and then continue to stretch until it reaches the desired diameter of 10 to 12 inches. Use your palm to flatten the edge of the dough where it is thicker.
• Brush the top of the dough with olive oil (to prevent it from getting soggy from the toppings). Use your finger tips to press down and make dents along the surface of the dough using a fork to prevent bubbling
• Preheat the oven at 180 degree Celsius, transfer the flattened dough to the pizza baking tray and bake it for 10 minutes. If the dough has lost its shape in the transfer, lightly shape it to the desired dimensions.
• Take the half baked pizza base from the oven, apply the sauce on the top of the pizza base, sprinkle with half the quantity of cheese, and spread the toppings (onion, capsicum, tomato, Mushroom and oliv) on top of it and sprinkle rest of the cheese as well.
• Preheat the oven at 180 degree Celsius and bake the Pizza for about 15 to 20 minutes until the crust becomes light golden brown and the cheese melts completely. Now the pizza is ready to serve…
